As dangerous wildfires sweep through British Columbia, many Canadians need urgent assistance. Thousands have already been forced to evacuate and leave their homes behind.

The wildfire swept through the town of Lytton, BC, burning much of it to the ground in a matter of moments. Destroying all the homes and businesses, including the Chinese Heritage Museum.

CCM Canada took action immediately and reached out to our small town mission friends in Lytton to follow up on their needs and status. We have also donated over 250 first aid kits to the indigenous residents of Lytton via the help of Fraser Lands Church in Vancouver.

CCM Canada is working with Canadian Red Cross to fundraise for emergency and disasters relief in Lytton town and BC wildfires

Canadian Red Cross is working with authorities in British Columbia also experiencing wildfires and planning together on how we can best support individuals, families and communities in the days and weeks ahead. Additional supplies and Red Cross personnel are ready to be deployed if needed.

We know that when responding to an emergency of this magnitude, the generosity of Canadians is essential to providing comfort and care. The best way Canadians can support people impacted by the fires is through a financial donation: Canadians wishing to help are encouraged to make a financial donation to the British Columbia Fires Appeal.

CCM Canada is supporting Canadian Red Cross efforts on the ground. Donations to the Canadian Red Cross will be used for immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long-term recovery, resiliency, and preparedness for future events in British Columbia and impacted regions, including consequential events related to the fires.

How your donations could help

  • SHELTER
ensure there are emergency shelters and lodging for evacuees who have nowhere else to go
  • BASIC NEEDS
provide a family with necessities they would have left behind, like food and clothing
  • EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
provide tailored emotional support to survivors coping with loss and hardship

The Government of Canada and the Government of British Columbia will each match every dollar donated to the Canadian Red Cross 2021 BC Fires appeal which means that every $1 donated will become $3 to support those affected by the wildfires.

CCM Canada has also set up a donation box at the CCM Vancouver Centre- Burnaby office. You are welcomed to make cash or cheque donations at this location.
