癌症關顧組

「癌症關懷組」顧名思義是一群熱心人仕去關懷癌患病友和他們家人的需要。我們需要不斷有人加入這行列，與我們並肩去關心在病痛中感到絕望、無助的人。

I. 直接參予
1. 願意恆常付出時間出席每月的月會，了解我們的宗旨和方針，共策群力，關心支持鼓勵在苦痛中的人。
2. 如您是癌病康復者，您的經歷對同樣需要的人會帶來鼓舞和幫助。
3. 有醫護背景人仕，分享醫學知識。

II. 間接參予
1. 用禱告關心支持癌患病友及其家人，並一群熱心的義工。
2. 用經濟支持這關懷的工作。

在神的恩典中，癌症關顧組得以在這數年間穩步成長。當看到人們由參加組內活動進而接受基督，我們繼續經歷神的祝福。神亦感動義工的參與，協助安排活動及為癌症患者和家人提供服務。前面還有很多工作，我們需要神的引領及你們的禱告支持。

我是一名醫生，也是委員會成員。讓我來介紹一下這個組及工作。我們當中有義工，癌症康復者及家人，在主的愛裡聯合在一起。我們的焦點是服務社區。肩負著中信的使命，我們去接觸社群，目的是分享我們對癌病的經驗和知識，及對癌患者和家人提供關顧及情緒上的支持。每月的第一個星期六我們都有聚會。講員包括醫生、營養師及醫護輔助人員。正所謂「知己知彼，百戰百勝」，若對癌病無認識，又怎能預防及戰勝它呢？故此我們經常邀請講員作癌病專題講座。我們亦認同均衡生活是癌症痊癒及身體健康的關鍵。義工們都預備好去關顧病者在情緒及靈命上的需要。每次聚會，在唱詩之後，我們有賴建鵬牧師發人深省的短講。賴牧師自己走過癌病治療之路，亦已痊癒多年。他不時分享自己抗癌的經歷，給予病者希望及支持。

參與組的工作讓我能與所接觸的人分享我的知識。 醫學知識是神給我的恩賜，我願以此服事他人。我很感恩有機會與義工們合作，他們靈力充沛的辛勤工作觸動了無數癌患者的生命。我們的推動力是從神而來的，我們願與大家分享我們的故事及見證。

Cancer Support Group

The CCM Cancer Support Group is a group of people who care for the needs of cancer patients and their families. The continuation of this meaningful ministry depends on having people join us to demonstrate our sincere care to those who are in pain or feeling helpless because of cancer. If you are thinking seriously of joining us, please contact Linkage Counselling Service at 604-629-2266.

I. Direct participation
1. If you are willing to consistently spare time to attend our monthly meetings and are interested in knowing how you can work together with us to care, support and encourage people in their suffering.
2. If you are cancer survivors, your experiences can be a great encouragement to those who are in similar struggles.
3. Volunteers with medical backgrounds to share the knowledge of their specialties.
II. Your support 
1. Through praying for cancer patients and their families as well as praying for the frontline volunteers.
2. Your financial support is very much appreciated.

Grace to the Lord that our Cancer Support Group has grown steadily in the past few years. We continue to see God's blessing as we witness people from the community joining our group and eventually accepting Christ. We are also blessed with a number of volunteers willing to help our group in organizing activities and assisting us in providing support services to cancer patients and their family. There is much work ahead of us and we need God's guidance and your prayer support. 

I am a physician and a committee member of the group. Please allow me to introduce who we are and what we do. We are volunteers, cancer survivors or families of cancer survivors who are united in the love of God. Our focus is on community. We reach out to the community while carrying the mission of CCM. Our goal is to share our experience and knowledge about cancer, and to provide care and emotional support to patients and their family. We regularly hold meetings on the first Saturday of each month. Our guest speakers include doctors, dietitians and other paramedical professionals.

The Chinese have a practical saying: "victory can never be won without knowing your enemies". In other words, without knowing what cancer is, we cannot prevent or fight a winning battle. Thus, we regularly invite speakers to speak on cancer topics. We also acknowledge the fact that leading a well-balanced life is the key to cancer recovery and good health. As such, our volunteers are prepared to meet the needs of the patients be it emotionally or spiritually. For example, our group is blessed to have Pastor Lai to give a brief enlightening talk following our singspiration time at the start of each meeting. He himself has walked the road in cancer treatment and has been cancer-free for years. Stories of his own enriching experience in fighting cancer appear in his talks from time to time to give our patients hope and support.

Joining the group allows me to share my knowledge directly with people. Understanding medical knowledge is a gift from God and I want to use what I have learned to benefit others. I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to work with volunteers whose spirited hard work has touched the lives of many cancer patients. The driving force of our work is derived from God and we would like to share our individual stories and testimonies with you.
