CCM 25th Anniversary - Thanksgiving Service and Banquet

In the past 25 years, many brothers and sisters in Christ have participated in ministries, functions and events organised by CCM Canada, and have prayed diligently for us. In celebrating our Silver Anniversary, we invited them to join us in remembering the Lord's blessings and leading, and to hear about recent developments and future challenges for CCM Canada. On October 17, our Thanksgiving Service was held at the Vancouver Christ Church of China. Several pastors and about 200 CCM volunteers attended. Rev. Thomas Wang, founder of CCM, was present to recall the hardships and painstaking effort in the early days of CCM, as well as the steadfast leadership of God in our development. He spoke in awe of God's miraculous work in the development of CCM Canada through the years. Rev. Edwin Kong, Executive Director of CCM Canada, then gave a brief presentation called "Thanksgiving Reminiscence" to highlight the history and ministries of CCM Canada. Afterwards, two sisters, who recently committed their lives to the Lord, personally testified of the magnificent work of the Gospel.

Immediately following the Thanksgiving Service, a banquet was held at the Floata Restaurant in Vancouver Chinatown. It was a full-house with close to 900 people coming together to enjoy the meal, prizes, performances by the Hong Kong artists, song presentations and a fundraising auction. During the evening, Rev. Thomas Wang encouraged Canadian Christians to remain firm and faithful in upholding traditional family values in our country. He reminded us of the importance of standing against critical challenges to our families so that we can provide a healthy, godly environment for generations to come.

The Board of Directors of CCM Canada took the opportunity during the evening to show its gratitude and appreciation to Rev. S.Y. King, who had been Chairman of the Board for 20 years. He will pass along his administrative responsibilities as the Chairman of the Board while taking on the title of Honourary Chairman of CCM Canada. In recognition of his life's contributions to God's work, Rev. King was presented with the gift of a plague.

In closing off the evening's celebration, the energetic CCM Canada board and staff members-in joyful song-were commissioned to continue in God's mission and to face future challenges with faith and courage.
